Tall Guy? Get a Platform Bed

Being that I’m 6’8’’, it’s hard for me to find furniture that I’m really comfortable with. Couches and chairs are always a little too low to the ground for my stature, but I can deal with that. It’s the bed that’s my main concern.

Beds are important. It’s the last place you go for the day and the place you start your day every morning. So it’s crucial that you have a bed that’s working for you and allows you to easily get a comfortable sleep while you’re in it. It should be equally as easy to get out of it.

Since I'm so tall, I have to crouch down to get into bed and then struggle to get up every morning. I have two bad knees with an achy back, and all that crouching and crawling is really hard on them. I had to make a decision to either start getting out of bed with a cane or find some furniture that was a little more kind to my tall frame.

I started to look at mattress discounters New York for platform beds on sale and kept turning up short. It was really hard for me to find tall furniture in my price range.

Luckily, I found NYMattress.com and found that they had an amazing inventory of platform beds on sale. So I ended up getting exactly what I wanted for an unbeatable price.
If you’re looking for platform beds on sale, NYMattress.com should be your first stop.

SOHO Bed - made in a NY mattress factory for 200 bucks! How can you beat that?

When my girlfriend and I moved in together, I knew it was time to ditch the old bachelor’s futon and get a new bed. You know, I wanted something more stable, a symbol of our relationship! Na… not really. She wanted a bed that she can actually sleep on… Anyway we searched and searched for a new platform bed and just couldn’t find anything suitable. I didn’t want anything tacky and she didn’t want a cheap build-it-yourself kinda a bed. Tell you the truth, I don’t like the beds that come in a box and you have to start figuring out how to get them together. Plus, the materials usually suck and the bed lasts for a year, maybe two. It was about time I got some real furniture!

So after a while we figured to try online. I mean, we know the measurements and everything and anyway I buy everything on the internet these days, so why not give it a try?

We logged on to www.NYMattress.com and found a wide selection of beds and were able to pin down the bed of our choice – the SOHO bed. I know it's kinda stupid but we live downtown so we liked the name as well...

It was a wonderful choice and checkout was a breeze. Not to mention the crazy price tag! 200 bucks for a full size bed? A real bed made in a NY mattress factory with eco-friendly hardwood! How can anyone beat that?

Sleep tight. Don't let the Bedbugs bite

Got bedbugs? Get a dog! Seriously… An interesting article was published this week in the L.A. Times. It's about dogs that are trained to find bedbugs.

Bedbugs are those nasty tiny insects that suck your blood during the night and hide in your room during the day. It’s impossible to find bedbugs alone. These nasty blood-sucking creatures can hide in electrical outlets and in the smallest cracks in the wall.

Big cities are under severe infestation of bedbugs in the recent years and pest control professionals work with the trained dogs in order to locate the bugs during the day or make sure that there are no bedbugs left after a building has been sprayed.

Training a bedbug detecting dog costs about 9000 dollars and the process takes up to 2 months. Well… how about getting a new mattress instead? Bedbugs love to hide in the mattress and buying a new mattress can help your blood stay within your body...
